Rent supplement is a government contribution to the cost of rent. You apply for rent subsidy at the Tax Administration. The amount of the contribution depends on the rent, income, age and living situation.

You cannot apply for rent allowance on all amounts in the rent. For example, you will not receive rent allowance on advances for heating and water, maintenance and glass service.
